Shops and services

A bar and an excellent boulangerie are a short walk away – so you can easily start the day with a typical, strong black coffee or pop out for that all-important breakfast croissant.

Driving five minutes towards Bénéjacq in the direction of Pau brings you to a large, well-stocked supermarket (SuperU) and a brand-new LidlFive minutes in the opposite direction - at Coarraze - is a small retail park, with a supermarket (InterMarché), boulangerie, drycleaner, newsagent/tabac and a couple of eateries.

As well as its weekly markets, Nay has a wide range of shops and services, including: bars, beauty salons and hairdressers, boulangeries, a fab fishmonger, delis, clothes and shoe shops, estate agents (for those who want to daydream), banks and a post office. There’s also the town hall and fire station. For those with pets, a state-of-the-art, friendly veterinary clinic is just five minutes away in Bénéjacq. In short, you can easily and quickly access everything essential for day-to-day living.

24/7 petrol pumps operate at both SuperU and InterMarché .

Eating out

At lunchtime, you can eat and drink at a good number of bars and cafes – offering everything from pizzas and salads to crepes and traditional menus à prix fixe. Fewer places are open at night – but you don't need to go hungry. Try the local dishes, such as garbure (a very tasty soup) and everything duck (we’re in the heart of foie gras and magret de canard country) or modern European dishes.
